Cash Mobs????
I just happened upon this great blog, Cash Mobs. The premise is rather basic, and genius - organize local people in mass to spend money with local businesses who could use the stimulus. In essence, share the wealth locally. I love it. Also found a Cash Mob Charlottesville Facebook page, check it out and join the mob!

Happy Valentine’s Day!
Oops.
I failed. I made a simple error because I forgot to think. I’m an over-thinker literally about everything. I am really good at it. I have been thinking so much about staying local that when I turned my full attention to another new and exciting venture, I just forgot to think.
I recently became a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Blue Ridge. I have wanted to do...

Can you make an impact locally while still shopping online?? Thanks Scarpa!
This is too easy
So far, so……easy. Hate to risk jinxing myself but really the hardest part of this trek has been keeping up with the blog. So far I have really just made two major changes in my spending - switched to the credit union and found a new place to buy dog food. I have also found a few pleasant surprises along the way too. First of all this is saving me a lot of time. I figured out I can...

Back to Back: Credit Union or Big Bank? →
Time to put my money where my mouth is.
When you think about how you are going to spend your money, it makes sense to also think about where to keep your money. My dad opened my first bank account when I was 16. He had been with Bank Of America for years at that time and I followed suit for quite a while, just never really put any thought into it. When considering how I would actually navigate...
